Beginner classes are offered in short day or night courses with an experienced ABF accredited teacher and introduce you to how to play bridge, including the core bidding principles.
Help with Play sessions are specifically designed to support those players who have just completed beginners classes, and for those players who have not had the opportunity to consolidate what they learned. They help you enjoy playing the game in a relaxed environment where each player is supported at point of need. A mini lesson is given at the beginning of the session and the boards played reinforce the focus of the lesson.
Practice Play sessions are designed for those players who are ready to move into a separate duplicate bridge game where they make decisions on their own, but are supported by a director/teacher who answers questions at any time, nudges them towards independent play and helps them become comfortable with normal club session practices and technology. Many players will form regular partnerships during these sessions. A prepared hand focusing on play techniques is generally played and discussed before the start of these shorter 2 hour playing sessions.
Green sessions are designed to support players to enjoy moving further along the learning continuum. These are regular club duplicates and players make independent bidding and play decisions. The first competitions are available and masterpoints can also be earned. Players are however protected from more advanced players and unfamiliar bidding conventions and supported with more time to bid and play each hand.
Continued lessons - We also offer Improve Your Declarer Play, Defender Play and other improver lessons to help you advance your understanding, including adding to your bidding system the conventions used by most regular players.
Our clubhouse sessions - We offer a large range of sessions to suit all players and are happy to guide you to sessions appropriate for you. Some sessions allow you to come without a partner.
